TRAINING CENTERS - INDIA

Because of the extreme poverty and hardship, a young man answering the call to the pastoral ministry often cannot support himself and his family - much less can he afford to go to Bible school for training. Yet many who have heard that call have given up well-paying jobs to serve as pastors in small, poor villages.

Burdened by this need, Pastor Yesupadam mortgaged his home to buy a plane ticket to America in order to share the burden and the vision with other Christians. God moved on many hearts to become involved in helping. Since 1989 there have been annual classes graduated from the five Discipleship Training Centers. Love-N-Care Ministries has helped to provide food, clothing and support to these pastors, and many young Christian leaders have been raised up to carry the gospel and the love of God in Jesus Christ to India and the world.

WOMEN'S DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING

Let me tell you about Hannah. She had been a muslim, when she met the Lord Jesus Christ and gave her life to Him. Her husband, in a rage, threw her out, and disowned their son. Desitute, she tried to earn enough to keep them both alive by sewing on the antique sewing machine she managed to take with her few belongings. Then the sewing machine broke. Love-N-Care Ministries provided a gift to purchase a new sewing machine, and also took her son into the Childrens' Home. In praise to God for His matchless grace, she committed her life to full time service and entered the Womens' Discipleship Training program.

The goal of the program has been to train Indian women in the knowledge of the Bible, and to teach life skills that will enable them to contribute to the support of their families. Many of the women are preparing to become pastors' wives. A pastor can live adequately for $50. a month, but many do not even have that. Some are even forced to go without eating two or three days a week because their congregations are too poor to pay them.

By God's grace, in SEPTEMBER, 1999, Love-N-Care Ministries began a 1-Year Discipleship Training Program in WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, CANADA, for Christians who wish to make a deeper commitment for greater fruitfulness for the Lord Jesus Christ, or who have heard God's call in The Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20), and who wish to prepare for further ministry, at home or on the mission field.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Love-N-Care Ministries' Discipleship Training Program has three foundational parts. These are found in the Lord Jesus Christ's description of Himself as, "the Way, the Truth, and the Life."

First, The curriculum is designed to teach The Ways of God - giving the student a fundamental grounding in the knowledge of the Bible and its "whole-life-system."

 

Second, The Truth of God - training students to handle the word of God accurately in the context of sharing the hope of Christ with the world.

 

Third, the curriculum focuses on The Life in which the disciple learns the "how" to apply the Ways of God and the Word of God. This includes the discernment and practice of the Will of God in his or her life, individually, and within the corporate Body of Christ. These aspects overlap in ways that integrate the parts into the whole of the Christian life.

SUBJECT DESCRIPTIONS

I. THE WAY - "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no man comes to the Father but by Me." - John 14:6

Old and New Testament Surveys Students will study the Bible both for a grounding in the knowledge of its content, and for the purpose of becoming familiar with the Ways of God, in His relationship to His people. Students will also examine the non-negotiable elements of the Christian faith to gain an understanding of His Ways. Included are: Revelation, Who God Is, Who Is Man?, The Nature of Sin, The Plan of Salvation, The Church, Covenant, Law and Grace, Faith, and many other important aspects of our relationship to God and Jesus Christ.

II. THE TRUTH - "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." - Matthew 28:19-20

 

Ministry of the Word: Evangelism, Revival, Preaching, and Witness

Students will engage in the practice of evangelism in a variety of contexts. They will identify the essential elements of the gospel, and strive to communicate them. They will also discover the hindrances to evangelism. In addition, this course will focus on the distinction between evangelism and being agents of God for revival. Time will be spent searching out the Biblical principles that relate to revival, repentance and renewal. This part of discipleship training intends to prepare the disciple to boldly proclaim and preach the word of God.

III. THE LIFE - "for this is the will of God, even your sanctification." - I Thes.4:3

The Holy Living and the Obedience of Faith

Students will discover what the Bible teaches about the daily Christian life. A wide range of practical and character building subjects will be covered. These include Worship, Fellowship, Discernment of God's will, Life Calling, Marriage, Finances, Problem Solving, Illness, Suffering, Temptation, Prayer, Confession, Spiritual Warfare, and a variety of other related topics . The communal life of the school will give the students the opportunity to put these into practice with an emphasis on being content in every circumstance.

SHORT-TERM IN INDIA - Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you, and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

As well as engaging in ministry in North America, students will spend some time at Love-N-Care Ministries' hedquarters in Visakhapatnam, India. They will engage in practical ministry at the Bethany Children's Home, participate in Crusades and go to the villages and tribal regions for outreach. They will help our brethren in that land while growing personally and corporately. Students will also experience God's presence, power, provision, protection and promises in a real and living faith context much like that described in the book of Acts.
